Questions

What should a work search log include?

The date, the employer’s name, their address, phone number or website, the person you talked to, how you contacted them, the job you applied for, and the result.

Do I have to use my state’s form?

Some states ask for their own form, especially if they audit you. Others accept any record with the same details. If your state has a form, it is linked on your state’s page.

Do I send my work search log every week?

Usually not. In 40 states you type your contacts in when you request payment. In 11 states you only keep the log and show it if asked. Either way, keep your own copy.

How long should I keep my work search log?

Rules differ. Many states say to keep it for a year or more, and some ask for records long after your claim ends. Keeping it until your claim is closed and every payment is final is a safe habit.

Keep every job contact in one place

myjobcontacts is a free work search log. Pick your state and it shows how many contacts you still need this week, reminds you before you request payment, and prints a clean log if your state ever asks for it. No sign-up. Your list stays on your phone.
